Introduction
A study day on Ancient Iran that will be held at The British Museum and introduced by the Director, Neil MacGregor. The theme is the Achaemenid Empire. The topics covered by the different speakers (many of whom are BM curators) will range from contemporary historical and archaeological sources and Greco-Persian relations to Qajar and European visual arts and the accounts of early travellers and archaeologists.
