Organised by:

in association with
The Iran Heritage Foundation and the British Institute of Persian Studies.

Introduction:
Until Perestroika there was limited Western awareness of the rich and varied cultures of Central Asia, an essential Eurasian link zone. The break up of the Soviet Union and the resulting independence of the Central Asian republics led to a number of international initiatives, while current events have resulted in an increased awareness of the area's strategic and economic importance. This conference will bring together Russian, Central Asian and Iranian scholars with researchers from Europe and elsewhere to explore specific topics focusing on the oasis cities of Western Central Asian and their links with Iran.

Registration fee:
30.00 Pounds (concession 20.00 Pounds).
