bedun e onvan (untitled) series presents a rare chance in London to see the latest video works by some of the best contemporary Iranian artists working inside and outside Iran and to hear them discuss their work.

The works provide a rich picture of personal and collective perspectives on aesthetics, language, emotion and culture.

Examining the contours of the global and the local, through addressing the question of identity, the series asks what does it mean to be Iranian today?

Showcasing the diversity of contemporary Iranian approaches, bedun e onvan 2 (untitled 2) screens the contrasting works of Mandana Moghaddam and Barbad Golshiri.

Focusing on language and communication, Moghaddam's work is a piece of live installation simultaneously taking place in her native Tehran and adopted Gottenborg which enables an audio link between the two cities. Epic in scale, Moghaddam explores language and communication with reference to local and global issues surrounding her experiences as an Iranian artist living in Europe.

Barbad Golshiri's polished conceptual work blurs the boundary between literature and art exploring the relationship between the word and the image. Using minimalist aesthetics, Golshiri questions the necessity of creating art, and art as a defiant tool for communicating with the world at any price.
