bedun e onvan (untitled) series presents a rare chance in London to see the latest video works by some of the best contemporary Iranian artists working inside and outside Iran and to hear them discuss their work.

The works provide a rich picture of personal and collective perspectives on aesthetics, language, emotion and culture.

Examining the contours of the global and the local, through addressing the question of identity, the series asks what does it mean to be Iranian today?

Showcasing the diversity of contemporary Iranian approaches, bedun e onvan 3 (untitled 3) screens the works of Shahram Entekhabi and Ghazel.

Two Iranian artists, a male and a female, both use performance - themselves as protagonist - exposing issues of gender and society. Both personal and political the works centre around clichés and stereotypes of the male and female within their native culture and as represented in the complex image of Iran abroad.

Ghazel was recently featured in the Hayward Gallery exhibition Laughing in a Foreign Language (2008).
