Introduction
This event
initiates an international programme in celebration of the
contribution of Persian art, culture and literature to
civilisation. A lecture by Dr Eleanor Sims entitled Mythical
and Princely Images: The Iranian Vision
will be followed by a reception and the presentation of
the first Ferdowsi Award for Service to
Persian Art, Culture and Literature to Mr B W Robinson. The
occasion will also celebrate the launch of Peerless
Images: Persian Painting and its Sources.
