Introduction:

British realism has made the running since the '30s and 40s, since Italian realism. Now Iranian realism is a great movement. In the international community of independent filmmaking Kiarostami and Leigh, exploring 'Truth, 24 times a second' in different ways for diverse contexts, are neighbours. An exceptional opportunity to hear these two visionary filmmakers in conversation. Leigh and Kiarostami will screen short clips of one another's work as starting points for an exploration of working methods. The discussion will be chaired by independent producer and director of the London Film School Ben Gibson.
