Introduction

More than thirty years has elapsed since the 1979 Iranian Revolution, which in turn has created the largest on-going migration of Iranians to other parts of the world, producing the current "Iranian Diaspora". This film series has selected documentaries and feature length films that explore various themes within the Iranian diaspora. These themes include:

• Reflections of the legacy of the 1979 Iranian revolution.

• Generational differences between 1st, 2nd and emerging 3rd generation of Iranian diasporics.

• Issues of gender and sexuality within the Iranian diaspora.

• Identity and exploring alternative narratives of “Iranian-ness”.
