Introduction
Iranian documentary filmmaking is at an exciting juncture today with talented directors offering fascinating and complex representations of life in the country. Documentarists are at the forefront of the process of charting daily events and engaging in a dialogue between complex cultural forces in motion, encapsulating fragments of memory and history, which inform the modern Iranian experience.
Reza Haeri is an Iranian filmmaker and producer of documentary and short films. He lives in Tehran where he is involved in a local periodical. Reza has presented his work in numerous film festivals including IDFA in the Netherlands and Hotdocs in Canada, and the Berlinale Expanded Forum. He is Director of International Affairs for the Iranian Documentary Filmmakers Association.
