Description
Join the Iran Heritage Foundation for our final event this year at an evening focused on Shab-e Yalda. Yalda is an Iranian festival celebrated at the time of the winter solstice, marking the turning point at which the days once again start to get longer, symbolizing the triumph of light over darkness. This will be a social evening, with a brief presentation on the history and significance of Yalda followed by poetry readings by Narguess Farzad (SOAS) and Prof. Alan Williams (Manchester University). There will then be a reception with drinks and traditional Persian nibbles.
